Peter Freed: Keynote interview at Transition-AI 2024

Transition-AI 2024 – Keynote interview: AI’s impact on data center energy strategies

With data center capacity expected to double, the industry is scrambling to secure enough power to meet demand. This is quickly reshaping energy procurement strategies, efforts to expand the grid, and regulation. In this keynote interview, Peter Freed discusses the sweeping impacts coming for the grid in the AI era with Latitude Media’s Stephen Lacey.

Peter Freed is the former Director of Energy Strategy at Meta. While at Meta, his team worked to advance grid decarbonization and reliability by creating solutions that overcome systemwide obstacles while also meeting Meta’s energy and net-zero goals. He worked in close partnership with large buyers, utilities, regulators, policy makers, developers, technology providers, and other market participants around the country to accelerate the transition to the zero-emission grid of the future. He was a founding board member of the Clean Energy Buyers Association. He is the founding partner of Near Horizon Group.
