Jason Deign is a Spain-based journalist specialising in energy and sustainability.

In 2012, he founded Energy Storage Report, one of the first publications dedicated to the emerging energy storage market. He was its publisher and features editor for six years until it was taken over by Tamarindo, a UK publishing and communications group.

In 2015, he also became a regular contributor to Greentech Media, latterly owned by Wood Mackenzie in the US, and remained a correspondent for the publication until it closed in 2021.

Currently he is a correspondent and special projects editor for Foresight Climate & Energy and writes for Latitude Media. He also produces branded content for media outlets including the Financial Times and Reuters Events.

In 2020 he was ranked at number 42 on Tyto Tech’s 500 Power List of the most influential people in the UK technology sector, ranking second within cleantech.
